Communicating Effectively in a Multicultural Environment

Communicating effectively in the multicultural business environments found in Dubai and elsewhere in the Gulf countries is much more than learning a few words of Arabic and adapting to someone’s else’s accent in English.  Learning how to communicate with people from other cultures, especially those who come from a different culture and speak a different mother tongue is key to working successfully in the region.

This two hour cultural awareness course is aimed at experienced lawyers as well as those new to the region and will aim to:

• Provide a better understanding of the relationship between culture and communication
• Explore different verbal and non verbal communication styles that can cause confusion and other difficulties in a multicultural environment
• Enable lawyers to acquire practical techniques and strategies for communicating effectively in the Middle East legal and business workplace
• Enable lawyers to learn hints and tips for using international English successfully across cultures
