November 19, 2017VAT Mitigation and Planning
February 4, 2018E-Laws for Legal Practice
As the business environment in which we work becomes increasingly “smart”, in this session we will look at the wide range of laws in the UAE relating to the use of information technology.
In particular, we will look at:
- the legal framework in the UAE on information security for the private sector;
- the law relating to the use of electronic communications and e-signatures, and how they may affect the way we conduct legal transactions;
- the use of IT and online platforms within UAE law, including social media usage and copyright issues; and
- sanctions for breach of the relevant UAE laws.
By the end of the session, attendees will appreciate which UAE laws currently impact on the way we use technology in law firms, and will understand how to tailor restrictions on use to ensure that employees stay within the law.
