Islamic Sukuk

The world’s greatest ever investing and lending region is now borrowing in the international bond markets, with Saudi Arabia’s history making $17.5 billion offering a huge global success, and Dubai being the world’s largest centre for Sukuk listings at USD 51.21 billion, with Nasdaq Dubai at USD 49.06 billion. The appeal of the Islamic sukuk now extends beyond the Islamic world. Some estimates suggest that non-Islamic investors may account for as much as half of any individual sukuk offering.

The purpose of this course is to ensure you understand the concepts and various types of Islamic bonds/sukuks, and their accompanying legal documents/contracts. We want to cover some of the key challenges across shariah and regulation and take the audience through a journey of sukuk issuance.
